ted-hughesTed Hughes born Edward James Hughes a holder of the Order of Merit, an English poet and children’s writer. He is routinely ranked as one of the best poets of his generation. Hughes was British Peot Laurete from 1984 until his death in 1998. He was born in Mytholmroyd on the 17 August 1930 and raised amongst the local farms of the Calder Valley. Hughes loved hunting, fishing, swimming and picnicking and classed his formative years in the valley as being much of the inspiration for his works.
